I have created this wiki to complement my blog, which you can check out by clicking here. Despite a rather large amount of knowledge about information technology (e.g., having created and maintained a web page for ca. 10 years) , wikis and blogs are really quite new to me. The past few days have been rather slow in the office, so I caught up on some reading from "Campus Technology." Lots of material on:
--the renovation--if not re-thinking--of the library, now dubbed the "information commons." --the explosion of varied onlline learning initiatives (i.e. Web 2.0) Can I ever catch up ?

I heard on NPR this morning that yet another world-class bank is writing off $1 billion from its first quarter profits. One would think that these people would be smarter, but then again "Greed is good ..." These folks also expend fortunes to buy modern art (which look like painters' drop cloths.

I am really saddened by the shootings at Northern Illinois University yesterday. Only time will tell whether the killer was someone who lived a life of quiet desperation.
